The life of a young glassworker in training and his relationships over the years as his land goes through wars and conflicts. This is Pakistan’s first hand drawn animated film. BEFORE you get angry, read my review till the end and think about it. The Glass Worker is a good film, I’m not going to lie and I’ve been following it for the past 4-5 years. But I knew from the beginning that since this is Usman Riaz’s first film, the story would have problems and boy, there were many. The ending was confusing to say the least as it lacked a lot of the plot of the film and it moved too fast. It also didn’t feel «original» as Usman Riaz was inspired by Ghibli which made the film feel «too» inspired by Ghibli. I know this is his first film but if he had been original it would have been better and it would have also been more natural and relaxing instead of fast rapping. IF you really want to see what «THE MASTER» is like, then this is it. It seems that (since people here are screaming that this movie is, even though it isn’t) watch HAYOA MIYAZAKI’s first movie, «Nausicaä The Valley of Wind». Or «Castle in the Sky», then you will truly understand the art of animation and the beauty of a true masterpiece story. The reviews here are completely wrong, saying that this is «the best movie ever». I have watched a lot, and I mean a LOT of animated movies, especially Japanese ones, as I like natural 2D art. I am very picky about my animated movies and this one was an easy 7/10. The main reason is that although the animation was beautiful and enjoyable, the story left something to be desired and felt somewhat amateurish, not to mention the Urdu dubbing of the movie, which did not give any natural feel. I highly recommend watching the movie in ENGLISH and not in URDU because the original script of the movie is in English, which is why the Urdu one looked like a Google translation, lol.
